Mary Agnes Harris, 95, of El Dorado, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home. She was born April 9, 1916, to James Arthur and Ada Emmaline Bowen Nutt, in Hampton, AR. Mary Agnes was a homemaker who along with her husband raised their children in the Quinn Community and was a member of Second Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Melvin Carroll “Chick” Harris; four brothers, and four sisters.
Left to celebrate her long and fruitful life are her five children, Wayne Harris (Anne) of Calgary Alberta, Canada, Janie Waters of El Dorado, AR, Patsy Norris (Tommy) of Dallas, TX, Kenny Harris (Marilyn) of El Dorado, AR and Judy Young (Tommy) of Malvern, AR; one sister, Georgia Shoemake of Mena, AR; two brothers, Vernon Nutt and Haywood Nutt both of Hampton, AR; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family would like to express our appreciation to her dedicated caregivers Ruth Johnson, the nurses and CNAs at Hudson Nursing Home, Dr. Harper for their special care and Rev. Bob Gryder his visits.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2011, at Young’s.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Young’s Chapel with Bro. Mike Nutt and Keith Nutt officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Arkansas Affiliate, Inc., 212 Natural Resources Dr., Little Rock, AR 72205 or the Charity of Donor’s Choice.
