Albert Johnny Harris, 60, of 418 W. Eighth St., died in a Monroe, La., hospital Thursday morning following a lengthy illness. He was born in Rison, Nov. 4, 1903, the son of J. A. and Carl Reed Harris. Mr. Harris was employed by the H. E. Paul Distributing Co. at the time of his death. He was the former owner of the Harris Ice Co. Mr. Harris was a member of the Woodmen of the World. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruby Helms Harris, of El Dorado; three daughters, Mrs. W. W. Tomlinson of Monroe; Mrs. Max Rowland and Mrs. Joe E. Brantley, both of Junction City; two sons, Johnny Harris of Luling, La and James A. Harris of El Dorado; a stepson, Larry A. Anglin; three sisters, Mrs. Homer Bettis of Ashland, Ore., Mrs. Jim Brennan of Palo Alto, Calif. and Mrs. Robert Gibbs of El Dorado; two brothers, Hollis Harris and James Harris both of El Dorado; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Rumph Mortuary with the Rev. P. D. Alston and the Rev. Dwight K. Southworth officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Harry Parish, Curtis Poole, L. C. Hearin, Bill Eason, Pugh Wallace and Doyne Gaddy. (The El Dorado Times - August 7, 1964)
