March 29, 1924 - June 20, 2018
Marion Lucille Reynolds Walker, 94, a longtime resident of Camden, died June 20 in Conway. Marion was born March 29, 1924, in Camden to the late Robert N. and Mary Belle Reynolds. She graduated from Camden High School and attended Henderson State Teachers College in Arkadelphia, where she met her husband, the late Thomas Benton Walker. A faithful Christian, Marion was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Camden. She was also a member of the Camden Junior Auxiliary and Chapter BX of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
Along with spending much of her life raising her family, Marion worked at the Camden Post Office during World War II
with her sister Ruth. Later she and her sister Mary Belle ran the office of R. N. Reynolds Construction Company, founded by
their father. Known as Mema to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was famous for her cinnamon toast, which
nobody could duplicate, and for the countless batches of peanut brittle she made at Christmas for friends and family. Marion was
a huge Arkansas Razorbacks fan, and she and Tom held football season tickets for years and often attended SWC and SEC
basketball tournaments. She also faithfully followed the Atlanta Braves, rarely missing a game on TV.
Besides her husband and her parents, Marion was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Kisamore, and two brothers, Bob and Bill Reynolds. She is survived by her three children, Kathy Beaumont (Larry) of Birmingham, AL, Tommy Walker (Susie) of Conway, and Margie Duncan (Alan) of Little Rock. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Hunter, Brent (Katie) and Ben (Claire) Beaumont; Benton (Jenny Beth), Bret (Jayme) and Wes (Kate) Walker; Matt (Caroline) and Scott (Melissa) Duncan and Mandy (Josh) Osborne, and by 21 great grandchildren, Walker and Lauren Beaumont; Lucy, Hank and Etta Beaumont; Ben, Whitlee, Annie Grace and Marion Walker; Molly, Morgan and Ty Walker; Reese, Graham and Eli Walker; Brady and Evan Duncan; Emma Duncan; Noah, Sam and Silas Osborne. Other survivors are her sisters Ruth Reeves and Mary Belle Dooley of Camden as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A private burial service for family members will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 29, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Camden, followed at 11 a.m. by a memorial service at the First Presbyterian Church. Visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Bob Reynolds Building Fund, First Presbyterian Church, 313 Greening Street NW, Camden, AR 71701.
