Mildred Arlis "Millie" Fielder Williams passed away Friday, March 22, 2013. Born in Guy, Arkansas, on February 25, 1920, she was the daughter of Alvie and Minnie Fielder. She graduated from Searcy High School in 1938.
Mrs. Williams was married to Ralph M. Williams, and to this union was born one son, Philip Ralph Williams who survives her along with his wife Patty of Searcy. Also surviving her is one granddaughter, Julie Williams May, one great-grandson, Grant C. May, nephews, Dr. Terry Jefferson, Dick Jefferson, Paul Williams, Todd Williams, Ben Williams, and nieces, Ruth Ann Fielder Munsey, Ann Willliams, Margaret Jane Sutherland, brother-in-law Reverend Emil Williams and his wife Mary Ann, and sisters-in-law Ruby Williams and Alene Fielder.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Tyler Fielder and Billy Fielder, and a sister, Ruth Marie Fielder Jefferson.
For 38 years, Mrs. Williams faithfully served First Baptist Church in Searcy as the pastor's ministry assistant. She also assumed leadership roles as a Sunday School teacher, nursery worker, and performed numerous tasks in the Women's Missionary Union.
Aside from active church involvement, Mrs. Williams volunteered for the White County Medical Center Auxiliary and enjoyed needlework and travel.
Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 p.m., Monday, March 25, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Searcy. A funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. conducted by Reverend David D. Crouch and Dr. Brian Whitney.
Acting as pallbearers are Scott Bell, Watson Bell, Lynn Parnell, Johnny Gentry, Bill Patton, Larry Smith, Don Raney, and Jimmy Vandiver. Honorary pallbearers are members of the LLL Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church and the White County Medical Center Auxiliary.
Arrangements are by Roller-Daniel Funeral Home (501)268-3546, and burial will be at White County Memorial Gardens.
Memorials for Mrs. Williams may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Program, Spring and Center Streets, Searcy, Arkansas 72143.
