SILOAM SPRINGS - Deward Ellery Bishop of Siloam Springs went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2011, at the Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale. Deward was born on March 20, 1931, in Boone, Colo. His parents were Will and Hazel (Stout) Bishop. He attended school in Siloam Springs, where he was class president 1947-1950.

He married Maxine Treat on July 17, 1952, in Springdale. Deward worked at Unit Rig in Tulsa, Okla., until he moved to Siloam Springs, where he joined Allen Canning Co. in 1959. After retiring from Allen's as senior vice president of quality assurance in October of 1995, he continued as the manager of the Allen's Outlet Store until his death.

Deward loved fishing and being outdoors, but was happiest when surrounded by his family. He was a member of Community Christian Fellowship in Siloam Springs.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine; three daughters, Lea Ann Thomas and husband, Steve, Leslie Porter and husband, Phillip, and Marsha Nitz and husband, Brian, all of Siloam Springs; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, at Community Christian Fellowship in Siloam Springs.

Celebration of Life services will be held at Community Christian Fellowship on Friday, April 1, at 10 a.m., with Pastor Jay Foley officiating, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, Springdale.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to CCF Building Fund, 525 S. Lincoln, Siloam Springs, AR 72761; or, Conductibility (formerly CENA-Conductive Education of Northwest Arkansas), 2846 N. Garland, Fayetteville, AR 72704.

SILOAM SPRINGS - Phyllis Maxine Bishop, age 82, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died March 1, 2016, at the Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale. Maxine was born April 3, 1933, in Prue, Okla., the daughter of Jim B. and Annis (Cook) Treat.

She married her high school sweetheart, Deward Bishop on July 17, 1952, in Springdale, Ark., and they shared 59 years of marriage until his death in 2011.

She was a member of Community Christian Fellowship Church in Siloam Springs, Ark. She worked at Allen Canning Company, serving as Executive Secretary for 35 years. Maxine was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.

Maxine is survived by three daughter; Lea Ann Thomas and husband Steve, Leslie Porter and husband Phillip and Marsha Nitz and husband Brian all of Siloam Springs, Ark.; two brothers, Harold Treat and wife Jean of Afton, Okla., Jimmie Treat and wife Dolores of Tulsa, Okla.; eight grandchildren and soon to be eight great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends, who knew her lovingly as Ma Ma.

Graveside services will be at 1 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2016, Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs, Ark., with the Rev. Jay Foley officiating, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Ave., Springdale, AR 72762.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 3, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Community Christian Fellowship, 525 S. Lincoln St., Siloam Springs, AR 72761.

Pallbearers will be Brian Thomas, Chris Thomas, Logan Porter, Will Nitz, Lucas Nitz and Seth Nitz. Online condolences may be made at www.memorialfhspringdale.com.
