PEA RIDGE — Opal Marie Miser, 75, of Pea Ridge died Nov. 10, 2004, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville. She was born Jan. 18, 1929, in Norman, Okla., to Talmon H. and Fannie F. Bragg Hicks. She was a 50-year member of the Brightwater Memorial United Methodist Church and was a 4-H leader for 15 years. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, reading and cooking. She married John Miser, on May 1, 1954. She was preceded in death by one son, David Miser, in 2002.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, John Miser of the home; two daughters, Viola Hazelwood and Verna Schwyhart and husband Jerald, all of Pea Ridge; three sons, Jordon Miser and wife Elizabeth of Spearman, Texas, Phillip Miser and wife Laura of Lelia Lake, Texas, and Hugh Miser of Pea Ridge; three brothers, Leano Boyd Hicks of Harrison, Edgar Hicks of Ava, Mo., and Robert Hicks of Beebe; one sister, Clara Harrison of Ava; 12 grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge with the Rev. Love Loftis officiating. Burial will be in Buttram Chapel Cemetery near Pea Ridge.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

PEA RIDGE — John David Miser, 86, of Pea Ridge died January 21, 2017 at Legacy Village Hospice in Bentonville. He was born May 1, 1930 in Pea Ridge to Russell Miser and Mabel Buttry Miser. He was a lifelong resident of Pea Ridge and graduated from Pea Ridge High School in 1950. He was a cattle farmer all his life and drove a bus for Pea Ridge School district. John was a member of the Pea Ridge Masonic Lodge since 1951, the Buttrams Chapel Cemetery Board and Brightwater United Methodist Church for 85 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50 years, Opal Miser; a son, David Miser and a brother, O'Neal Miser. Survivors are three sons, Jordan Miser (Elizabeth) of Pea Ridge, Phillip Miser (Laura) of Lela Lake, Texas, Hugh Miser of California; two daughters, Viola Hazelwood of Pea Ridge and Verna Schwyhart (Gerald) of Pea Ridge; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service is set for 2 p.m. Thursday, January 26 at Buttrams Chapel Cemetery in Pea Ridge. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at siscofuneralhome.net.
