MISER, Wm. - Pea Ridge Lodge No. 119, A.F. & A.M., Brightwater, Ark. assembled on the 4th of last February to pay the last tribute of respect to our departed brother, Wm. Miser, who died on the preceding day after a long confinement and many months of suffering, through all of which he upbore so noble and heroically as only those who are good of heart can do. Surely his life was a prodigy. His decline from manhood to death was almost as gradual as was his rise from nonentity to manhood. He was twice a child, an infant, and once a man in the short space of 44 years, and 23 years of that time he was a live, energetic and practical Mason.

Wm. Miser, ex-postmaster of Brightwater, died at his home in that place on last Thursday, February 3rd. He was 45 years of age and had been ill for the past two years. The funeral was held on Friday under the auspices of the Masonic fraternity of which he was a member. The services were conducted by Rev. Griffin of the M.E. church, South. The remains were buried at the Buttram Chapel cemetery. The funeral was one of the largest ever held in that section, the deceased being both a prominent citizen and a respected and beloved friend and neighbor. He was postmaster under the second Cleveland administration. He was a brother of Mrs. John W. Stroud of this city.
