Funeral services for L. Wayne Allen will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 15, 2010 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Pastor Joel Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00-3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Gillette Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Allen, age 56, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Close to Home Hospice House due to cancer.
Lloyd Wayne Allen, known best as Wayne, was born on July 21, 1954 in Heber Springs, Arkansas the son of Floyd and Lorene (Stroud) Allen.
He was raised and educated in Concord, Arkansas and Gillette after moving there in 1962.
Upon completing his schooling he began working in the oilfield, as a truck driver. He was employed by Chinook Pipeline, Campbell County Concrete and S & M Oilfield Cementers.
Wayne married Hazel Morrow on January 8, 1978. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, playing with his granddaughters and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 34 years, Hazel Morrow of Gillette, Wyoming; mother, Lorene Allen of Wolf Bayou, Arkansas; step son, Derick (Jessie) Morrow of Gillette, Wyoming; brother, Lynn (Karon) Allen of Douglas, Wyoming; sister, Jeanette (Mel) Palmer of Thermopolis, Wyoming; 4 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, special friend, James Haigwood and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Larry; grandparents; as well as his mother and father-in-law, Bill and Hazel Wintermute.
