Florence altom, 7, of Seacy, died Saturday, September 21, 2002, in Searcy. She was born December 10, 1925, in Pangburn to Oran Edwin and Cora Jane Henderson McLester. She was a homemaker and a member of Valley Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Audrey Altom of Searcy; two sons, Edwin Ray Altom of Fort Smith and John Wayne Altom of Ozark, Missouri; four daughters, Linda Marie Beall of Mayflower, Nancy Lou Vogel of Ashburn, Virginia; Brenda Sue Loper of Wichita, Kansas, and Dianna Joyce Bates of Monticello; one sister, Louise Butler of Searcy; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2 p .m. Tuesday, September 24, 2002, at Valley Baptist Church of Searcy. Interment will be in Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn. The family will greet friends at the Valley Baptist Fellowship Hall following interment.
Memorials may be made to Valley Baptist Church's "Together We Build" program.
Arrangements are by McEuen Funeral Home of Searcy.

When Audrey Wayne Altom was born on July 23, 1921, in Floral, Arkansas, his father, Herman, was 21 and his mother, Susie, was 18. He married Florence Marie McLester on December 27, 1941. They had nine children during their marriage. He died on November 24, 2003, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, at the age of 82, and was buried in Pangburn, Arkansas.

Audrey Wayne Altom, 82, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003. A former resident of Searcy, he was living near his children in Fort Smith at the time of his death. He was born July 23, 1921, in Floral to the late Herman and Susie Newton Altom. He retired from Boeing Aircraft Company in Wichita, Kan., after 38 years service as a fabricator. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member and Deacon Emeritus of Valley Baptist Church and a Mason.

He is survived by two sons, Edwin Altom of Fort Smith and John Altom of Ozark, Mo.; four daughters, Linda Marie Beall of Mayflower, Nancy Lou Vogel of Ashburn, Va., Brenda Sue Loper of Wichita, Kan., and Dianna Joyce Bates of Monticello; three brothers, Coy Altom of Parsons, Kan., Austin Altom of Nevada and Odell Altom of Wichita, Kan.; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Florence Marie Altom; three brothers, Arlie, Jack and J.C. Altom; and one sister, Ruby Jones.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at Valley Baptist Church with interment in Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Valley Baptist Church building program.
