Margie Bailey, 86, of El Dorado, passed away on Oct. 19, 2017.
She was born Dec. 28, 1930, to Theodore and Tennie Parr. She served as deaconess at Greater Paradise Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of First Baptist Church on North West Avenue and was the owner of Bailey’s Cleaning Service.
She was a member of the El Dorado Concert Choir, Den mother and leader of the Boy Scouts.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Bailey; two daughters, Carolyn Robinson of Chicago, Illinois and Veronica Bailey of El Dorado; five sons, Garland Bailey (Gwendolyn) of Oakland, California, Robert L. Bailey (Darcel) of Richmond, California, Theodore C. Bailey of El Dorado, Cleveland Bailey (Donna) of Chicago, Illinois, and James Bailey (Sondra) of California; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon until 5 p.m. today. Private family hour will be from 6 until 7 p.m. today at Sims Mortuary. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 at Greater Paradise Baptist Church with the Rev. James Bailey, eulogist. Interment will be at Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary.
