July 27, 1906 - October 31, 1974
Mr. R. W. "bill" Bailey, 68, of 422 Barton, died Thursday evening in a local hospital as a result of an automobile accident Oct. 4. Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Roy I. Bagley and the Rev. Ralph S. Mann officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Mr. Bailey was born in Pine Bluff, July 27, 1906 and was the son of Thomas Jackson and Ella Francis Dyson Bailey. He was an accountant and a former employe of El Dorado laundry, the Exchange Bank and Trust Co., the Lion Oil Co., and was presently employed by the Holiday Inn. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Francis Asbury Sunday School class. Survivors include one son, Robert T. Bailey of Little Rock; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Bailey Billingsley, of Newport; one brother, Albert Nathan Bailey of Tucson, Ariz. and three grandchildren. The family will be at the residence of Mrs. Inez Russell, 1312 N. Highland. (El Dorado News Times - November 2, 1974)
