Sybil Marie Tackett Gibson, 91, went home to the Lord, Tuesday, January 19, 2010, from St Marys Regional Medical Center. She was born in Moreland, Arkansas, the eldest of 13 children born to William Ellis and Gracie Montgomery Tackett. She attended elementary school in Pottsville and high school in Hector. She was a homemaker, avid gardener, preserving most vegetables and fruits consumed by her family, quilting, crocheting and reading. She exhibited much of her work in the Pope County Fair earning many blue ribbons. She was a long-standing member of the Russellville First Assembly of God, and did not miss a service until health and age prevented her attendance. She was active in the Womens Ministries and the A Y. She truly loved to serve and worship the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Bud Gibson, infant son Wilford Gibson, son David Gibson, sisters, Helen Tackett, Hattie Robinson, Estelline Hartsfield, and brother, John Mark Tackett. Survivors include daughters, Velma McCourtney of Pleasant Hill, California, Carolyn Keith, Scarlett Jackson, Faith Nadine Foster, and husband John all of Dardanelle, Wanda Kathleen Martens and husband David of Madison, Wisconsin; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grand children; sisters, Esther Carter, and Vela Page of Russellville, Annie Chaney of Richmond, California, Lois Miller of San Leandro, California, Georgia Jones of Oakhurst, California & Gracie Leininger of Rollo, Missouri; brothers, A E Tackett of Russellville, Arkansas, and Montgomery Tackett of Virginia Beach, Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews.
