Edgar Guinn, age 92, a self-employed farmer and rancher of Cleveland, Ark., passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at the Brookridge Cove Nursing Home of Morrilton, Ark. He was born March 17, 1924 at Cleveland, Arkansas to the late Hobert and Sodie Williams Guinn. With a seventh grade education, he started working at the age of fourteen to help support the family of five. He developed a strong work ethic, believing everyone should work and do their best. He served on the Wonderview School Board for twelve years and Farmers Home Administration committee four years, and he loved hunting, fishing and water skiing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Jewell Burnett (Fred) and one brother, Berlin Guinn. He is survived by his loving wife of almost sixty nine years: Dorothy (Reynolds) Guinn; one sister: Carol Guinn Dawson (George) of Little Rock; two daughters: Joyce Barnwell-James (Randall) of Beebe and Wanda Waters(Leon) of Solgohachia; five grandchildren: Sonda Waters Guinn (Jason) of Solgohachia, David Barnwell (Amanda) of Indianapolis, Ind., Nathan Waters (Megan) of Conway, Stephanie James Batson (Michael) of Beebe, and Nicholas James of Conway; eight great-grandchildren: Cheyanne Taylor of Solgohachia, Alexus, Blazelynn, Peyton, and Ethan Waters all of Conway, Brandon Snelson (Diana) of Letona, Jackson Snelson and Laura Snelson of Beebe; and one great-great-grandchild: Taylor Snelson of Letona.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016 at Harris Chapel with Chaplain Howard Wheeler officiating. Burial will be a Lost Corner Cemetery in Cleveland by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016 at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of Brookridge Cove for the manner of loving care they have given Edgar over the last two years, and to the Arkansas Hospice Care for the manner of response and care they provided for the family.
