John H. Powers, a resident of Conway,for 66 years, died at his home on Bruce Street after a short illness.

His marriage to the former Naomi Frances Hardin, who survives, occurred on April 3, 1901. Also susviving were
four sons, Prentice Powers of Baton Rouge, LA, William, Francis and Hershel Powers of Little Rock; two daughters, Mrs. Carroll W. Johnson of Morrilton, and Mrs. Warren A. White of Little Rock; a sister, Mrs. P.H. Jamison, of Conway; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas F. Powers of Conway.

John was a Methodist. Funeral services were conducted at Doolin's Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m., Saturday by Rev. Joel A. Cooper.

Pallbears were W.H. Smith, Alva R. Williams, Jack Chisler, Neel Webb, E.E. Cordrey and Kenneth Satterfield. Honoary
pallbearers were Dr. Nolen M. Irby, J. I. Summers, Dr. Ed Dunaway, V.C. Hinkle and Claud Vaughter. Burial was in
Oak Grove Cemetery.
