Patsy Acklin Goode, 77, of Conway went home January 8, 2009, to be with the Lord, her loved ones and buddies that preceded her.
She was born to the late Clyde B Acklin and Thelma Grisham Acklin on December 10th, 1931 in Happy Hollow, Arkansas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Conway.
Her husband, Noah E. Goode Jr. and sons Scott Goode and Joe Goode preceded her in death; a sister Hazel Cochran and a brother Edwin "Buddy" Acklin.
She is survived by a brother Jim Acklin and wife Jean of Holland; a sister Barbara Buerer and husband Nathan of Holland; a sister Edna Brown and husband Richard of Eureka, California; her devoted daughter, Susan Goode Moore, and husband John of Conway; a grandson Jason Glazebrook and wife Tasha of Vilonia; a granddaughter Christie Oliver and husband Erik of Greenbrier; a grandson Matthew Goode, of Fayetteville; a granddaughter Katherine Goode of Conway; a daughter-in-law Deborah Goode of Conway; and three great grandchildren, Sophia Glazebrook, 3, Jayden Oliver, 7 and Macie Oliver, 8 1/2 months.
She was always there for her family with a loving spirit and understanding heart. All that knew her will miss her guidance. She had more influence on the people she came in contact with than she realized here in this life. Her legacy will always be honored. All of her children and grandchildren pray that she watches over them from heaven as she did in this life. Her family has peace that she is with her husband and "buddy" that she has missed so badly for 5 years and her sons that needed her with them. We know that she will be a faithful servant in heaven as she was on earth.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 10, 2009, from 6 – 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2009 in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway, with Reverend Larry Pillow officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Holland.
The Pallbearers will be John Moore, Don Reeves, Stewart McConnell, John Moore Jr., Gary Dew, and Stanley Russ.
Honorary pallbearers are Greg Wren and Dave Dunseath.
Memorials may be made to the Soaring Wings Ranch, Holland, AR.
