When Mary Etta Piercey and her twin sister Mary Etta were born on September 15, 1877, in Arkansas, their father, William, was 31 and their mother, Sarah, was 32. She married Robert E. L. Turner on February 9, 1896. They had 10 children during their marriage. She died as a young mother on March 1, 1906, at the age of 28.
