Springhill, LA - Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Lou Owen Wilson , age 103, will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA, with Rev. Bill McLain officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Conway, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 6, 2013 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wilson a longtime resident of Springhill, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013. She was born on June 7, 1909 to Owen J. and Anna Lay Owen in Conway, AR. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Springhill United Methodist, and longtime member of the missionary society. Her husband and she owned and operated Wilson Furniture Company in Springhill for many years. She later worked as a sales clerk for Shurtleff's Sewing Center. She loved to sew, cross stitch, and enjoyed line dancing with the senior friends, but stopped when she turned 90 years old.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Wilson Sayas and husband, Herbert Louis of New Orleans, LA; grandson, Herbert Louis Sayas, III; and two nieces, Evelyn Gregory, and Joanna Shumate.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Bentley Wilson; brother, Owen J. Owen Jr.; and sisters, Floy Gregory and Mary Ellen Shumate.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to The Methodist Home for Children, P.O. Box 929, Ruston, LA 71273-0929.
