Thomas Robert (Tom) Vaughan aged 66 a resident of Camden for the past 30 years, died at his home at 500 Buchanan Street at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Vaughan was a retired electrician and a member of the Baptist Church. He was born in Hot Springs County, June 17, 1894. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Chapel Gatling; seven sons, Al, J.T., Robert O. (Buddy), Russell, Curtis, Larry, and Calvin Vaughan all of Camden; four daughters, Mrs. L. S. Harrington, and Mrs. Marion Pennington of Bearden, Mrs. R. S. McAdoo, and Mrs. Lee Thomas, Jr., of Camden; two brothers, Willie Vaughan of Marshall, Texas, and S. H. Vaughan of Hampton; two sisters, Mrs. Millard Aud, and Mrs. J. M. Neves, both of Camden; nineteen grandchildren and for great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Proctor Funeral Chapel conducted by Elder L. B. Moseley of New Edinburg. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. Casket bearers are, Dooley Womack, O. A. Gilleland, Cleo Riggs, Buster Word, George Byars, and Dean Martin. The body was taken to the home to remain until service time. (Camden News - March 22, 1961)
