WALNUT RIDGE -- Anna Katherine Cook, 81, of Walnut Ridge, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005 at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Born Aug. 20, 1924, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of William and Lucy Newman Kingcade. Mrs. Cook was a homemaker and a member of the Egypt Church of Christ.

Mrs. Cook is survived by a daughter, Shirley Barnett of Jonesboro; a son, Kenneth Cook of Rockford, Ill.; a brother, Claude Kingcade of Lynn; four sisters, Millie Atkinson of Jonesboro, Georgia Huskey of Hoxie, Virginia Wicker of Hartsville, Tenn. and Wanda Gilligan of Machesney Park, Ill.; six grandchildren, Tracy Ditman, Debbie Bellows, Mark Cook, Saundra Charolla, Shannon Cook and Jonathan Barnett; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cook was united in marriage to Clarence Cook on March 1, 1941, who preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 1992. Mrs. Cook was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Cook; a brother, William Kingcade; and a sister, Thelma Songer.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Bryan Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Davis officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in the Old Military Cemetery under the direction of the Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie.

Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m.
