SPRINGDALE — Jack L. Hathorn, 81, of Springdale, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Aug. 9, 1930, in Rocky, Okla., to Coleman and Virgie Sparks Hathorn.

Jack spent 35 years researching and developing poultry processing equipment. He worked for Johnson Foods. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was member of Cross Church in Springdale. He spent two years fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, fishing, but most of all he enjoyed his grandsons.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymon Hathorn and Carl Hathorn; one sister, Lois Hausam Geer.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Hathorn of the home; two daughters, Linda Pianalto and husband, Rick, of Tontitown, and Denise Goshorn and husband, Larry, of Las Vegas; three brothers, Fred Hawthorne of Holden, Mo., J.D. Hawthorn and Herb Hathorn, both of Huntsville; six grandchildren, Dustin Pianalto, Bronson Duck, Blake Pianalyo, Brinton Duck, Drew Pianalto and Austin Pianalto; and two great-grandchildren, Brooks Duck and Lilly Pianalto.

Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale, with the Rev. Charlie Foster officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery.
