Charles F. Mobbs, 90, of Conway, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009. He was born Saturday, May 31, 1919 in Greenbrier, Arkansas to the late John Sanford and Laura JoAnna (Hardin) Mobbs.
Mr. Mobbs was a loving father and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman. He was a mechanic of both foreign and domestic automobiles. It never got too late for him to help anyone in need of assistance whether it be mechanic work or just a lending hand. His family remembers him as the best dressed man from his hat to his shoes.
He is survived by two sons, Ronnie Mobbs and wife Carole, and Ricky Montgomery and wife Fritzy; three grandchildren, Ronda Woodrome and husband Keith, Bryan Mobbs and wife Sheila, and Chris Mobbs and wife Faith; five great-grandchildren, Jessica Woodrome, Mitchell Woodrome, Ashley Mobbs, Mason Mobbs, and Charity Mobbs; one sister, Fannie Earl Nix; and his life long friend and companion, Marie Grimes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Geneva Mobbs, and a number of brothers and sisters.
Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Greenbrier with Brother Craig Brannum officiating. Burial will follow at Thorn Cemetery with Bryan Mobbs, Chris Mobbs, Mason Mobbs, Jimmy Mobbs, Keith Woodrome, and Mitchell Woodrome, serving as pallbearers. Donald Brannon, Tom Amos, and Rupert Mobbs, will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 29, 2009.
