Russell Lee Cowan, 72, of Elkins, died Monday in a Fayetteville hospital. Born Sept. 19, 1901 at Savoy, the son of James K. and Ollie Pace Cowan, he attended the Baptist church and was a member of the IOOF Lodge.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Ruth Donnell Cowan, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Louise Carter of Elkins, Mrs. Bonnie Skrapka, of Bethany, Okla., and Mrs. Nellie Jean Castoe of Davis, Okla.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will he at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Elkins Community Church with burial in White Oak Cemetery at Savoy under the direction of Nelson's Funeral Home of Berryville.
