Luther Fowler, 99 died Sunday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge. He was born July 4, 1915 in Alicia, Arkansas to John and Beulah Bullner Fowler. He was a lifetime residence of Lawrence County and a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Walnut Ridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ethel Hackney Fowler;
3 brothers; 3 sisters and 1 great-granddaughter.
He is survived by a daughter, Pat Dixon of Walnut Ridge; grandchildren, Rob Combs of Walnut Ridge, Richard Combs of Florida and Nancy Hall of Walnut Ridge; 5 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be at a later date on July 4, 2015 on his 100th birthday.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Main Street Church of Christ youth program in Walnut Ridge.

Ethel Louise Fowler
Ethel Louise Fowler, 88, of Walnut Ridge, died Feb. 16, 2008, at her home.
Born Sept. 5, 1919, at Bradford, she was the daughter of James and Rebecca Blevins Hackney. She was a homemaker and was a member of Main Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Luther Fowler, whom she married on Sept. 28, 1940, in Lawrence County; a daughter, Pat Dixon and husband Boyce, Walnut Ridge; three grandchildren, Robert Combs, Richard Combs and Nancy Bushell; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Strangers Home Cemetery, near Alicia, with Donald Layne officiating. Higginbotham Funeral Service had charge of arrangements.
