MRS. J. R. BROOKS
Mrs. Vada Brooks, 79, a former resident of the Drakes Creek community,
died Friday at a Little Rock hospital. She was born at Drakes Creek Dec. 10,
1885 the daughter of Richmond Neal and Elizabeth Ham Neal.
Survivors include her husband, J. R. Brooks; one son, Ray Brooks of Springdale; two
brothers, Lum Neal of Tulsa, Okla., and Nolen Neal of Corona Del Mar Calif.;
one sister, Mrs. Dayle Drake of Brea, Calif, and three nephews and two
nieces. Funeral services were held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Drakes Creek
Church with Rev. Cecil Garrison of Springdale, conducting. Burial was in
the Drakes Creek cemetery under the direction of Bra-shears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: Lester Neal, Melvin Lawson, Cecil Sisemore, Jay Logue,
Clyde Watson and Derald Parks.
