Joint Funeral Services Held For Brooks and Lewis
Joint funeral services for Montie Frederick Brooks, and his great-granddaughter, Rhonda Michelle Lewis, were held at Drakes Creek Baptist Church with burial in Drakes Creek Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. The services were conducted by Rev. Homer Ross.
Mr. Brooks, 84, a resident of Route 1 Wesley, died Oct. 3 in the Madison County Hospital. He was born Dec. 5, 1882 in Madison County. Survivors are two sons, Loyd of Fullerton, Calif, and Lewis of Greenland; four daughters, Mrs. Gladys Lawson, of Huntsville, Mrs. Cecil (Ruby) Sisemore and Mrs. Pauline Samuels, both of Wesley and Mrs. Melba Pennington also of Fullerton, Calif., three brothers: Harvey of Bakersfield Calif., Jesse of Springdale and George of Wesley; one Sister, Mrs. Sadie Boyd of Whittier, Calif.; 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Johnny Sisemore, James Lewis, Charles Duncan, Loy Counts, Curtis Counts and Jim Duncan.
Rhonda Michelle Lewis, seven-week-old infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobbie Lewis of Hindsville, died Oct. 3 in the University Medical Center at Little Rock. She was born Aug. 16, 1967 in Springdale. ; She is survived, in addition to her parents, by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Sisemore; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Loy Lewis and a great-grandmother, Mrs Gertie Harp all of Hindsville.
