Mary Odean King, 82, of Judsonia, died Monday, February 4, 2013 at White County Medical Center in Searcy. She was born January 4, 1931 a daughter of the late Orvie and Rose Leonard Safley. Odean was a Baptist and had worked for years as an Avon Representative. She was also a well-known seamstress and enjoyed cooking and canning for her family, friends and neighbors. Odean loved sports and was an avid Cardinals and Razorback fan and spent many hours watching her children and grandchildren play ball.
She is survived by her sons, Mike and Mark King both of Judsonia; daughters, Mary Lee Duncan and Carol Underwood both of Judsonia; brothers, J.C. and Roger Safley also of Judsonia; 5 grandchildren, Becky Holland, Kristie Zomant, Damon Perkins, Jeremy Sarrels and Summer King; 10 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Z.L. Safley and a granddaughter, Rhonda Bisbee.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia.
