January 23, 1931 - April 13, 2023
Mary Alice Jones, age 92, of Junction City, LA passed away early Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Timberlane Health and Rehab Center in El Dorado. Mary Alice was born on January 23, 1931 in El Dorado to the late William Wales Cullins and Ruth Simpson Cullins.
Mary Alice was a Junction City High School graduate and later attended Southern State College in Magnolia. She was employed at Union State Bank in Junction City, serving 20 plus years before her retirement and was a member of Junction City Church of Christ. She enjoyed traveling, crappie fishing, reading, crochet, knitting, shopping at garage sales, thrift stores and Junction City Dollar General.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband of 65 years, Monroe Jones.
Survivors include; two daughters, Arden Sweet and husband Johnny of Junction City, and Janell Thames and husband Don of Vicksburg, MS; one son, Craig Jones and wife Kim of Junction City; four grandchildren, Candee Franks and husband Paul of Junction City, Steven Jones and wife Kelsey of El Dorado, Haley Bell and husband David of Magnolia, and Jared Thames and wife Margaret of Vicksburg, MS; nine great grandchildren, Shelby Majors and husband Shannon of Longview, TX, Cassidee Franks of Junction City, Beau Jones, Mary Catherine Jones, Cooper Jones and Nolan Jones, all of El Dorado, Jack Bell and Lance Bell, both of Magnolia, and Nathan Thames of Vicksburg, MS; two great great grandchildren, Wrenleigh Majors and Walker Majors, Both of Longview, TX.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 1:30 pm on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City. A graveside service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm at Roselawn Cemetery with Don Ossman officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Junction City.
