April 22, 1873 - December 9, 1964
Dorsey L. Jones, 92, a native of El Dorado, died in Olla, La. Wednesday afternoon. He was born here April 22, 1872, the son of Hugh and Rebecca Parnell Jones. Survivors include two sons, Hugh Jones of Lucedale, Miss. and Thomas Jones of El Dorado; seven daughters, Mrs. Rosalie Kemp and Miss Lucille Jones, both of Clinton, La., Mrs. Ruth Orrell of Delhi, La., Mrs. Pearl Burress of Olla, Mrs. Estelle Dupuis of Wilmot and Mrs. Lilly Orrell and Mrs. Maxine Haskins, both of El Dorado; 27 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Pratt Funeral Home with the Rev. Gilbert Wade of Olla and the Rev. Floyd Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Parnell Cemetery. Grandsons of Mr. Jones will be pallbearers. (The El Dorado Times - December 10, 1964)
