Ray McElhaney, 71, of Huntsville, died March 16 at Huntsville Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 9, 1910, in Aurora, the son of Joseph and Ada Seals McElhaney. He was a retired service station operator, a Baptist, a veteran of World War II and a member of Hayes-Smith Post 137 of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Mable Harris McElhaney of the home; one son, Kenneth McElhaney of Huntsville; one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Bohannan of Huntsville; two brothers, Chester McElhaney and Clay McElhaney of Huntsville; three sisters, Mrs. Dorthy Jameson of Huntsville, Mrs. Fannie Casey of Turlock, Calif., and Mrs. Sylvia Binam of Prineville, Ore.; his stepmother, Mrs. Ethel McElhaney of Springdale; and three grandchildren.
Services were March 18, at Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Jay Hollingshad and the Rev. Bill Williamson officiating. Burial was in Huntsville Cemetery.
Mabel

Mrs. Mabel McElhaney, 81, of Rt. 5, Huntsville, died May 31, 1988, at the Huntsville Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 3, 1906, at Huntsville, the daughter of Robert and Emma Wilson Harris. She was retired from the food service department of the Huntsville Public Schools and attended the First Baptist Church of Huntsville. She was the widow of Ray McElhaney, who preceded her in death on March 16, 1982.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth McElhaney of Huntsville; one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Bohanan of Huntsville; and three grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday, June 2, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Spurlock officiating. Interment was in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Lindell Jameseson, Steve Spurlock, Ron Bolinger, Chester McElhaney, Bill Jones and George Moore.
