Funeral Today for Spring Valley Man

Springdale, Sept. 25 - A 3:30 funeral service at the home was scheduled this afternoon for Levi Shafer Welch, prominent 70-year old Spring Valley farmer, who died Wednesday night at his home near Springdale. Burial was to be in Joyce cemetery under the direction of Callison-King, Springdale.

Mr. Welch was born Aug. 30, 1864 in Macon county, Ohio, the son of Ira and Mary Shafer Welch. He had lived in the Spring Valley community since March of 1902.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Mattie Wiley Welch; four daughters, Mrs Loren Easley of Springdale, Mrs. Ethel Homesley, Tulsa, Mrs. Norma Fitch, Spring Valley, and Mrs. Dora Lamer, Muskogee, Okla.; two sons, Kermit Welch of Van Buren and John Welch, Springdale; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Springdale — Mrs. Mattie Weleh, 91, died at her home at 902 E. Emma Wednesday. She was born Oct. 30, 1973 in Tennessee and was the widow of Levi S. Welch.

Survivors include two sons, John of Springdale and Kermit of Sacramento, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. W. W. Parsley of Springdale, Mrs. Robert Fitch of Pamona, Calif. and Mrs. Delmar Lanier of Muskogee, Okla,; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Arrangements will he announced by Callison-Sisco Funeral Home.
