Fayetteville Youth Killed In Accident

SPRINGDALE — A 16-year- old Fayetteville youth was dead on arrival at Springdale Memorial Hospital shortly before 10 p.m. Friday following a tractor accident.

The victim was identified as Devoe Lee, son of Mrs. Bertha Mitchell of near Fayetteville.

Authorities said the youth was discovered underneath the overturned tractor he had been driving about 8:45 p.m. in a field along Hwy 264 near here.

Springdale ambulance attendants quoted an unidentified man who discovered the accident as saying apparently no one witnessed the accident and it was not known how long the youth lay before he was discovered.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Devoe Lee, 16, who was fatally injured in a tractor accident Friday, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Liberty Baptist Church of Dutch Mills. Burial will be in Dutch Mills Cemetery.

Lee was born Oct. 26, 1951 at Swain.

Survivors are his father Gordon Lee of Fayetteville; his mother, Mrs. Bertha Thomas Mitchell of Fayetteville; one brother, Billy Lee of Fayetteville; three half-brothers, Galen, Stevie and Terry Mitchell, all of Fayetteville; one sister, Mrs. Glenda Sue Hines of Germany; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Cora Lee of Big Springs, Mo.; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Betty Thomas of Prairie Grove.
