SPRINGDALE — Lavada I. Simmons, 67, of Springdale, Ark., died March 8, 2012, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale. She was born May 29, 1944, in Buckner, Mo., a daughter of Corby and Leota (Reynolds) Barnard.
She was a member of the United Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Junior Barnard, Ford Barnard and Dolan Barnard; and one sister, Hazel Murphey.
Lavada is survived by her husband, Burl Simmons, to whom she was married 45 years; and her daughter, Melissa Simmons; four brothers, Ed Barnard of Avoca, Ark., John Barnard of Seligman, Mo., Reese Barnard of Blue Springs, Mo., and Gene Barnard of Hindsville, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Backstrom-Pyestte Funeral Home in Springdale.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, March 11, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. Online guestbook at www.backstrom-pyeatte.com.
