Corbett Farm - Matthews - Plott Cemetery
Pope County,
Arkansas

In searching for Galley Rock History, we learned of an Old Cemetery, on what is now the Corbett Farm between highway 105 and the Arkansas River. This cemetery is laid out on the crest of a hill with well over a hundred graves marked only by native stones. Sixteen have tombstones.

* An attempt to find this cemetery was made by our county coordinator in March of 2014, with the finding to be unsuccessful.

*Directions: South of Russellville, go East on Hwy 247 for 5.2 miles, turn right on Sweeden Island Rd, go south for 3.9 miles, turn left (turns into Hwy 105), go East for .8 miles to No Trespassing Sign on right, walk south through the woods along a ridge above the Ark river. It is approx 225 yds west to east and 65 yards wide on west end tapering to point. Very grown up and neglected.
