Deward "Dude" Belmont Wharton, age 86 of Cabot, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 25, 2012 at his home, he was born October 3, 1926 in Cabot to the late Randolph and Nora Stephens Wharton also preceded in death by wife Mavis Lee Wharton, son Randall Wharton, grandson: Joshua Wharton two sisters Joyce Anderson and Capitola Chesser one brother Fred Wharton.
Dude was a veteran of the US Navy and retired from the VA Hospital after 32 years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survived by daughter Theresa "TC" Wharton Peeler of Cabot, Arkansas one son Johnny Zahari and wife Brenda of Sherwood, Arkansas daughter-in law Naomi Wharton of Cabot, Arkansas two granddaughters Tiffany Wharton and Celia Zahari, two grandsons David Yielding and Jarrod Zahari, one great-grandson Tristan and his mother Sherry Yielding, several nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
Visitation will be Tuesday November 27, 2012 from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Service will be held Wednesday November 28, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Cabot. Interment Cypress Valley Cemetery.
