Wife of Fredrich Gunther
Anna Marie Mesel was born in Grethen, Germany to Antone Mesel. She married Friederich Günther in 1867 probably in Durkheim or nearby Grethen, Germany. They were the parents of two sons, Wilhelm and Karl, and two daughters, Margaret and Elisabeth, born there, and another daughter, Anna Marie, born in their farm's one room cabin near Paris in Logan County, Arkansas. Anna and Friederich's youngest son, Karl died shortly after his 10th birthday in a prank gone bad, resulting in Karl's neck getting broken. Anna never stopped grieving for her happy go lucky boy. A few days after this tragedy, the remaining family members boarded the SS Pollux for the USA. The family worked hard to make a living farming the land and always had their Catholic faith to rely on.
