EASLEY, Mary A. MITCHELL - {from Providence) Mary A. Mitchell was born in Knox county, Tenn. December 5th, 1853. Moved to Benton county in early girlhood {in 1866} where she spent the remainder of her life. She united with the Primitive Baptist church at Providence near her home on September 8, 1883, was baptised by Elder Goad and remained a faithful member until death. She was married to John Easley November 28, 1883 and moved to their home on her birthday, December 5th, 1883 and remained in this same home until her death, living a devoted life to her husband and children, ever willing to make sacrifices for their pleasure. To this union was born six children, two dying in infancy. Those living are: Mrs. 0llie Mahurin, Clarence Easley and Hayden Easley, all of Garfield, Ark.; Mrs. Bertha Saunders of Cardin, Okla. All were present at the bedside when the end came. She contracted the disease on January 9th from which she suffered until death relieved her on March 6, 1923 at the age of 69 years, three months and one day. We extend heart-felt sympathy to the entire family, especially to Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Easley as they were called to the bedside of his mother and witnessed her passing away, then three hours later they were called to witness the death of her mother, Mrs. Byler.
