Henry Alvin Harper, age 92, of Maumelle, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012. He was born on October 12, 1920 in Shirley, Arkansas to W H “Hop” and Katie Alice Bradley Harper. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Tom Nell Doyal Harper; son Joe Tom Harper; daughter Jackie Burnett; grandchild Stefanie Harper; brothers Connie Mack and Sherman Dale Harper; and sister Mary Jo Holderfield.
Mr Harper is survived by wife Helen Harper, 2 sons Ben and Martha Harper of North Little Rock & W H “Dub” & Linda Harper of Sherwood; stepson Sam & Diane Spencer of Springdale, Missouri; 4 daughters Geniece & Floyd Franks of North Little Rock; Kathlynne & Chuck Pflughoeft of Jacksonville; Sue Ann & Rob Bledsoe of Russellville; Jane Ellen & Steve Buckley of Leesburg, Virginia; 14 grandchildren ; 2 step-grandchildren; & 10 great-grandchildren.
Mr Harper was a Baptist and an Army Air Corps Veteran awarded the Bronze Star Medal 12 times for service throughout North Africa and Europe during World War II. He was in residential construction as a carpenter and cabinet maker.
Services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 1:00 pm with viewing at 12:00 pm at Roller-McNutt at 1902 Highway 65 South in Clinton, Arkansas. The family will receive friends & family Tuesday, November 20th from 6 to 8 pm at Roller-Owens at 5509 JFK Blvd in North Little Rock Arkansas.
Graveside services will follow the funeral service at Bradford Cemetery, located off Highway 16 in Shirley (Van Buren County).
