Horace Lincoln Barnes, age 90 of Searcy, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010. Mr. Barnes was born in Heavener, Oklahoma on February 19, 1920 to the late Roy and Thera Ann Young Barnes. He was a decorated Veteran of WWII, a Federal Aviation Inspector, airplane mechanic and pilot. He was a loving, compassionate, caring, and a very detailed oriented individual who loved fishing. He was well known among the Harding Place Community.
He is also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years; Maxine Barnes, his son; Dennis Barnes, his daughter; Cynthia Sue Barnes, and four brothers; James, Floyce, Burl, and Milburn Barnes.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law; Barbara Barnes of Rose Bud, one brother; Herman Barnes of Poteau, Oklahoma, three grandchildren; Amanda Barnes, Sabrina Barnes and Samantha McClain, three great-grandchildren; Devin and Trenton Reed and Nikole McEachern. As well as nephews and other family all who loved him dearly.
Visitation will be 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, July 16, at the funeral home. Services 10 A.M. Saturday, July 17, at Rose Bud Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
