Nellie Lacy, age 95, of Drasco, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at her home. Born in Helena, Arkansas, on July 16, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Marie (Shoni) Bartschi.
Mrs. Lacy was a lifetime resident of Cleburne County. She was a homemaker who loved gardening and taking care of her flowers with her granddaughter Debby Chastain.
Mrs. Lacy was a member of the Pleasant Ridge General Baptist Church. Her husband, James M. Lacy, preceded her in death on May 3, 1991. Mrs. Lacy was also preceded in death by her parents and one daughter.
She is survived by her son, James Lacy and his wife, Kathy, of Drasco; her sister, Bonnie Sternwise of Phoenix, Arizona; two nieces, also of Phoenix, Arizona; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and nine great, great grandchildren. Mrs. Lacy is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 13, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 14, at 2:00 p.m. in the Olmstead Chapel with Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. James Lacy, Josh Lacy, Jim Chastain, Sonny Chastain, Tommy Chastain, and Lanny Chastain will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are David Chastain, Steven Chastain, Mark Chastain, Kyle McMullin, and Glendal McMullin. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.
