Lola Irene Rogers, 92, of Japton, Arkansas died January 15, 2011 at Countryside Retirement Center at Huntsville, Arkansas. She was born February 4, 1918 at Japton, Arkansas the daughter of Joe and Ruthie Neal Harriman. She was a lifelong member of the Mountain Grove Church of Christ, had worked at the garment factory in Fayetteville and in Huntsville and had raised chickens for Tyson Food. She enjoyed working in her home and her vegetable and flower garden, reading, sewing and quilting. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Emmer Edison "Edd" Rogers on November 27, 2002, one son, Donald Edison Rogers, one son-in-law, Delbert Leon McConnell and one grandson, Darrell Wade Rogers.
Survivors include: one son and daughter in law, Paul and Doris June Rogers of Japton, Arkansas; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Hazel Mae McConnell, Anna Sue and Jerry Thomas and Janice Loraine and Roy Lynn Watkins all of Japton, Arkansas; one daughter-in-law and husband, Barbara and Ron Parsley of Springdale, Arkansas; one sister, Joetta Harriman of Fayetteville, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Monday, January 17 in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Jack Harriman, Minister officiating. Interment will be in the Drakes Creek Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net at Huntsville. Pallbearers will be: Steve Tackett, David McConnell, David Ogden, Jeff Thomas, Robert Watkins and Kenneth Watkins. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons.
