WINSLOW — Dan Jarrett Henson, age 61, of Winslow, Ark., passed away peacefully on Aug. 2, 2011, in his easy-chair, doing what he loved to do, reading a book. He was born Aug. 18, 1949, in Winslow, Ark., the son of Olen and Ruby Thompson Henson. He was of the Baptist faith and was retired from the maintenance department at Pinnacle Foods. He enjoyed shooting guns, living on the mountain, camping. fishing, reading and making others laugh.

He was preceded by his parents; and one brother, Gerald Henson.

He is survived by two sons, Dennis Henson and his wife, Donna, of Springdale, and Andy "Tater" Henson and Britney of Gothenberg, Neb.; four sisters, Sharon "Sis" Ashley of Benton City, Wash., Sandy "Sam" McDow and her husband, Tim, of Rogers, Ark., Dawn "Other Baby Sis" Jones and her husband, Carroll, of Owasso, Okla., and Charlie "Baby Sis" Malone and her husband, Alan, of Springdale; five grandchildren, Kelly, David, Marian, Zayne and Brycen; three great-grandchildren, Makenna, Wyatt and JayLynn; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Mineral Springs Cemetery, with the Rev. Paul Eden officiating, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to www.memfuneral.com.
