HENSON, John B. - The News regrets to chronicle the death of Uncle John B. Henson which occurred Friday at one o'clock. Funeral services was held at the residence Saturday morning, conducted by Revs. A. Marston and W.H.W. Burns of the South Methodist Church, and Rev. T.B. Lunsford of the Presbyterian Church. A large number of relatives and friends were present. The remains were laid to rest Saturday afternoon in Bluff Cemetery. Uncle John Henson, as he was familiarly known, was an old settler in Washington County and had an extensive acquaintance among the first comers. He served through the war, fighting the confederacy and had been a member of the South Methodist church for many years. A wife and several children survive him to mourn his death. And to these The News tenders its sympathy.
