Dorothy Mae Browning Henry of Mount Vernon, loving wife, mother, and grandmother went to be with her Lord Wednesday (Oct. 20, 2004).

She was born July 23, 1916, in Judsonia, a daughter of the late Charles Carroll and Emily Charlotte Wyeth Browning.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Tavner Elmo Henry; three brothers, Wallace, Earl and Richard Browning and a loving sister, Lula Browning, all of Judsonia.

She was blessed with four children, three daughters, Emily Morgan and husband, Bob, of Springfield, Mo., Charlotte Henderson and husband, Fred, Betsy Davies and husband, Sid; son, Tavner Henry and wife, Judy, all of Mount Vernon; two brothers, Russell and Raymond Browning, both of Judsonia; 11 grandchildren, Charity Brantley, Aaron Henderson, Amy Stewart, April Baker, Sarah Morgan, Nikki McJunkins, Becki Henry, Christy Morgan, Tav Henry, Autumn Davies and Sydney Davies.

Dorothy also enjoyed seven great-grandchildren, Harmony Brantley, Tyler Stewart, Hali Stewart, Hannah Henderson, Kassidy McJunkins, Kailee Baker, Lily Stewart; and step-great-granddaughters, Jasmine and Alexis Baker; along with many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

She was a member of the Mount Vernon Baptist Church and a retired teacher of more than 30 years at the Red Hill and Mount Vernon School Districts.

There will be a gathering of remembrance at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at the Mount Vernon Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Griffith and Bro. Paul Reams officiating.
