Sid Branscum, 51, passed away October 18, 2001.
He was born July 28, 1950, the son of Shem and Lois Branscum.
Sid attended Timbo High School, was a welder and worked in
mechanic/research shop for Flintrock Shirt Factory and worked part time
for Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall. He obtained his funeral
director's license in 1978, and was a member of Campbell Masonic Lodge
#115.
Sid moved his family to Clinton in September of 1978 where he became
manager of Coffman Funeral Home. Sid was elected Van Buren County
Coroner in 1986 and served until 2000. Sid was manager of Roller McNutt
Funeral Home in Clinton after Coffman sold to Denver Roller Inc., where
he was still employed at his death. Sid was a Christian, loving
husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his father, sister and grandfather.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Dorothy of the home; two daughters
and son-in-laws, Lisa and Mike Swofford, Angie and Kiley Jones; two
grandchildren Somer and Briar all of Clinton; his mother Lois Branscum
of Oxley; grandmother Callie Bradshaw of Fairfield Bay; one sister
Deborah Fendley of Oxley; three brothers, Jerome of Indiana, Steve of
Clinton and Russel of Shirley; a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held October 19, at Angora Cemetery with Ray
Green officiating with Masonic Rites.
Sid would say don't give me flowers, help someone who needs help,
because he is with the Lord.
