When Benjamin Louis Akin was born on March 1, 1890, in Arkansas, his father, James, was 32 and his mother, Viana, was 29. He married Winnie Edith Latture on June 18, 1911. They had two children during their marriage. He died on February 20, 1952, at the age of 61, and was buried in White, Arkansas.

Ben L. Akin of Beebe, 62, died this Saturday Morning in a local hospital.
He is survived by his widow Mrs. Edith Akin; two daughters, Mrs. Maumarene Eddleman and Mrs. Roy Scoggs, both of Little Rock; three brothers, Lonnie of Beebe, Al and W. H. Akin of Floyd; three sisters, Mrs. W. D. Patton of Little Rock, Mrs. Otis Latture of Beebe and Mrs. W. T. Roberson of Searcy.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Floyd Methodist Church by the Rev. J. M. Talkington and Floyd VaVines. Burial will be under direction of Westbrook funeral home of Beebe.
