BARNETT, A.J. - We are sorry to hear of the sad death by accident of our friend, A.J. Barnett, a prominent citizen of Rogers, the sad event occurring last Saturday evening. On that evening he and his son went to the barn to water their stock and owing to one of the horses being very fractious, Mr. Barnett did not turn it out to water but while the boy was watering the rest of the stock Mr. Barnett went into the barn and a few minutes later the son went in and found his father dead in the manger with his neck broken and it is supposed that the horse did it. R.N. Corley, Coroner, was summoned and a jury empanelled whose verdict was death by accident.

Last Saturday evening A.J. Barnett of Rogers and a 14 year old son went to the barn to feed. They turned all the horses out to water except one that was so mischievous that they could not turn him out with the others. The boy went to the hydrant to turn on the water and remained to turn it off again while his father went into the barn to feed. When the boy went to the barn he found his father lying in the hall with his neck broken. It is supposed that the horse did it. Coroner R.N. Corley held an inquest and the jury brought in a verdict of death by accident. Mr. Barnett held considerable property in Rogers.

CC Note: I believe these are the same as the death date is the same. Any questions let me know.
