Iva Lucille Morgan, 61, of Hamburg died Monday, September 27, 2010, at the Mississippi University Medical Center in Jackson. A lifelong resident of Hamburg and a custodian for the Hamburg School District, she was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Edward "E. G." Morgan; two sisters, Alice Marie Hill, and Charlene Wallace and husband Thomas, all of Hamburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Worthy Morgan; an infant daughter, Gloria Morgan; her parents, George and Sallie Franklin Swinney; two brothers, George and Donty F. Swinney; and one sister, Madline Robinson.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 2, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Willie R. Taylor officiating. Active pallbearers were Curtis Hillard, Lloyd Collins, Thurnell Hymes, Lawrence Stanley, DeWayne Watt, and Trey Emory. Honorary pallbearers were the Mt. Zion mission ministry and trustees and the maintenance staff of the Hamburg School District. Burial followed at the Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
