R. D. Morgan, 67, of Hamburg died Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. A native of Falcon and a resident of Hamburg for 50 years, he was retired from Georgia Pacific's paper mill and was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, where he served as deacon for the past 20 years.

He is survived by four sons, Berryll L. Tucker of Little Rock. David and wife Edna Morgan of Arlington, TX, Gabriel and wife Patricia Morgan of Lake Village and Quinton Martin of Little Rock; two daughters, Jacqueline E. Morgan and Anita S. Morgan of Hamburg; two brothers, Rev. Andrew and wife Ruthie Morgan and Rev. Aaron and wife Myrtis Morgan of Milwaukee, WI; four sisters, Flora and husband David Miller and Faye and husband Samuel Collins of Hamburg, Othello Yates of Gary, IN, and Peggy and husband Willie Williams of Milwaukee; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Beadie Mae McQuay Morgan; one brother, Worthy Morgan; two sisters, Opha J. Morgan and Mary Dean Griffin; and one grandson, Jason Morgan.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Willie R. Taylor officiating. Pallbearers were Amos Scott Morgan, Allen Huggins, Robert Stanley, Tremell Yates, Aaron Morgan, Jr., and Willie Williams, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are the Mt. Zion Baptist Church male choir. Burial followed at Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home. Guest book at www.cromwellfuneralhome.net.
