Samuel W. Qualls, 61 years old, died Tuesday afternoon at his home southwest of Springdale. Funeral services were held this afternoon at Methodist Church conducted by Rev. H. O. Bolin. Burial was in Bluff Cemetery with Callison and Riggs Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Qualls was born on March 6, 1876 in Marble, a son of W. Alexander and Adeline (Littrell) Qualls. He is survived by his widow, Mattie; two sons, Fred Qualls of the home and Vernon Qualls of New Mexico; and two daughters, Margaret Qualls and Ree Qualls, both of the home.

Funeral services for Mattie J. Qualls, 77 years old, who died yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. W. Mills, will be held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at Nazarene Church with Rev. Paul Watson officiating. Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Watson Mortuary of Siloam Springs. She was born on March 25, 1877 in Alabam, the daughter of James Franklin and Margaret Hutton. Survivors include two sons, Vernon Qualls of Midland, Texas and Fred Qualls of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters, Mrs. C. W. Mills of Springdale and Margaret Berry of Portales, New Mexico; three brothers, W. C. Hutton of Bentonville, A. R. Hutton of Fayetteville, and H. L. Hutton of Houston, Texas; and two sisters, Amanda Burchfield of Fort Smith and Mrs. P. F. Morse of Ozark.
