ROGERS — Beverly Ann Banwart, 72, of Rogers died April 21, 2009, at her home. She was born June 2, 1936, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, to the late Oscar and Ruth Lee.

Bev worked as a caregiver in an adult care facility in Iowa before moving to Arkansas in 1984. In 2004, she retired from her home day care business after providing loving care to numerous families. Bev was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers. Over the years, she faithfully served the Lord as a Women of the ELCA leader, Stephen Minister and Bible study leader. Bev had the gift of hospitality and always extended a warm smile and welcome to newcomers. Bev will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Banwart, to whom she was married on Dec. 27, 1957; one son and daughter-in-law, Jarrett and Margaret Banwart of Lake Villa, Ill.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Banwart and Randy Thompson of Spring, Texas, June and Ken Burnett of Palmer Lake, Colo., Sarah and Brian Smith of Bella Vista, seven grandchildren, James and Logan Cooke, Kisa and Kendall Burnett, Fisher, Carter and Lydia Smith. She is also survived by three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Peace Lutheran Church, 805 W. Olrich in Rogers, with Pastor Dick Jebsen and Pastor Michael Kerr officiating. Following the service a reception will be held in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to Peace Lutheran Church, 805 W. Olrich St., Rogers, 72756; or Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, 72762; or Friends of the Rogers Public Library, 711 S. Dixieland Read, Rogers, 72758; or Muscular Dystrophy Association, 6101 U.S. 271 S. Fort Smith, 72908.
